Refund policy

CounterRent charges $49 once for a renewal negotiation, and only offers it after the free check finds enough market data to support a counter. This page explains how refund requests are handled.

Effective September 28, 2026

When to contact us

Get in touch if:

  • you were charged more than once;
  • you could not access your purchased negotiation because of a technical problem; or
  • you believe there was an error with your purchase.

We review refund requests individually.

After you have accessed your negotiation

CounterRent provides personalized digital analysis immediately after purchase. For that reason, purchases are generally non-refundable once the paid negotiation has been accessed, except where required by law. A landlord declining to lower the rent is not, on its own, a reason for a refund, because the service is market analysis and strategy rather than a guaranteed result.

How to ask

Email support@counterrent.com from the address on your account, with the renewal address and the date of the charge. Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank; we can usually resolve things faster directly.

How refunds are paid

Approved refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe. Stripe processes the refund promptly, but it can take several business days for it to appear on your statement, depending on your bank.

What happens after a refund

  • The negotiation tools for that renewal close: no new messages or reply analysis.
  • You keep read access to the analysis and messages you already received, since you may still be relying on them.
  • A refunded renewal cannot be purchased again. If you want a fresh analysis, you can start a new renewal.
