Affiliate earnings calculator

Model hypothetical CounterRent affiliate earnings from your own reach and an assumed purchase rate, at $24.50 per completed sale.

The starting values are an example to show the math, not a typical or expected result. Use your own assumptions.

Hypothetical commission

$306.25

Hypothetical purchases
12.5
Referred sales at $49
$612.50
Commission per sale (50%)
$24.50

12.5 purchases × $24.50. A hypothetical example, not an earnings guarantee.

The formula

  1. Purchases = views × purchase rate
  2. Referred sales = purchases × $49
  3. Commission = purchases × $24.50

The purchase rate is the share of views that end in a completed purchase through your link. It is the assumption that matters most, and it is yours to set: CounterRent does not publish an expected rate.

Worked examples

At 25,000 views and a hypothetical 0.05% purchase rate: 25,000 × 0.0005 = 12.5 purchases. 12.5 × $24.50 is $306.25, or about $306 in commission on $612.50 of referred sales.

At 4,000 newsletter readers and a hypothetical 0.2%: 8 purchases, and $196 in commission.

Both examples use made-up rates to show the arithmetic. They are not typical results.

What affects real results

  • Relevance. Content about rent increases and lease renewals reaches people with the exact problem CounterRent solves. A general apartment tour reaches fewer of them.
  • How many renters you reach. An audience of homeowners or students living with family has little use for a renewal tool, however large it is.
  • Timing. Renters act when a renewal notice arrives. Content that stays findable, such as a pinned video, a blog post or a saved guide, can keep converting long after it is posted.
  • Qualification. The market check is free and some renewals are already in line with the market. Only renters whose case qualifies, and who choose to negotiate, buy.
  • Attribution. Purchases are credited for 30 days after a click, in the same browser. Details are on the affiliate program page.

This article is general information about earning from content. Earnings from any affiliate program, including CounterRent's, depend on your audience and are never guaranteed. Follow the disclosure rules that apply to you, such as the FTC's Endorsement Guides in the United States.

Questions

How are affiliate earnings calculated?
Views multiplied by the purchase rate gives purchases. Each completed purchase earns $24.50, which is 50% of the $49 price. Refunded purchases earn nothing.
What conversion rate should I use?
Use your own experience with other offers if you have it, and try a few values. CounterRent does not publish an expected conversion rate, and the calculator's starting value is only an example.
Are these earnings guaranteed?
No. The calculator shows arithmetic on assumptions you choose. Real results depend on your audience, your content and timing, and can be zero.
